At issue are whether defense counsel rendered ineffective assistance of counsel and whether the trial court abused its discretion at sentencing by punishing Richard Mead for exercising his right to a jury trial. Because defense counsel made all the proper objections and there was no prejudice to Mead, he received effective assistance of counsel. Moreover, the courts remarks at sentencing, when considered in context, did not constitute an abuse of discretion. Because there was no reversible error either with respect to these two contentions or to those asserted in the pro se brief, we affirm.
